＜大学院進学を希望される方へ＞
現在、山中研には非常に多くの博士課程および修士課程進学希望の問い合わせが国内外からありますが、指導教官数や研究スペースの関係で、大学院生の受け入れは非常に難しく厳しい状況です。また、山中研が皆様にとって必ずしも最良の研究室とは限りません。
現在、京都大学では山中研以外にも数多くのグループがiPS細胞研究に取り組んでいます。
CiRAのHP（http://www.cira.kyoto-u.ac.jp/j/research/index.html）などをご覧いただき、各々の修学に最適な研究室を十分に検討の上、受験を希望される方はできるだけ早い時期にお問い合わせください。
なお、大学院受験に先立つ研究室訪問は必須ではありませんが、受験申込に際しては講座主任である私の了解を得ることが必須となっています。

< Dear all students who are considering your graduate program in Yamanaka laboratory >
Yamanaka laboratory always receives many requests from Japan as well as foreign countries for Ph.D and also a graduate program. Our teaching capacity is limited and a laboratory space is already full, therefore, it is quite difficult to accept new students under the current situation. Moreover, keep in your mind that Yamanaka laboratory is not necessarily the best lab for you, please.
There are many other groups which have been working on iPS cell research project in Kyoto University besides Yamanaka laboratory.

Please consider carefully which laboratory is suitable for your study, and that acceptance in Yamanaka laboratory is fairly difficult at present. If you still wish to study at Yamanaka laboratory, please contact us at earliest on your decision. The laboratory visit is not required prior to the examination for the graduate school; however, you are required to have the approval in advance by Dr. Shinya Yamanaka before you apply for the examination.
