Experimental animals, such as dogs, mice and others, are housed in the Laboratory of Animal Experiments for
Regeneration under the regulation of animal experimental committee and institutional guidelines for animal welfare.
The new animal facility for housing SPF grade mice was built in 2002 and has been managed by three institutes including
ours, Virus Research Institute and Institute for Genetic Medicine.
In the research division of the Laboratory, following research projects are now going on.
1) Investigation of GPI-anchored protein metabolism in fertilization.
2) Improvement of methods for developing gene-knockout mice.
3) Development of gene-knockout mice (collaborations with other laboratories).
